I love the New Year! I love the fact that everyone has the opportunity to begin a New Year with a clean slate. The struggles and trials of the previous year are in our rear view mirror and the New Year is before us with all of its possibilities of better things to come. As we leave 2010 behind and we look forward to 2011 I feel the urging of the Lord to call Cooley Avenue to a time of fasting and prayer. We will begin our fast on January 3rd and will be ending it on January 24th. If we will begin this New Year with 21 days of fasting and prayer the Lord will honor that and it will set the table for a year of blessing and favor for your life and for Cooley Avenue.

I want to encourage you to take the next 21 days to fast and pray. Pray for the church, leadership, finances, and our future. Pray for those who are lost and need Christ. Pray for your needs. Pray God will give us greater insight and direction as we move into 2011. I love what the word of God says in 2 Chronicles 7:14-15"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place." Another great promise in Isaiah 58:6 "[Is] not this the fast that I have chosen to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?" 

As we come together to fast and pray we believe bands will be loosed, burdens will lifted, freedom and liberty would come to your life, and yokes of bondage in your life would be broken. We are also believing that financial blessings will be released into your life!

I love the words of MATTHEW 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."  Let's put HIM first and see what He has in store for us.
